Fire Stop Contracts with USFS for 2008 Wildfire Season

FIRE STOP has contracts for engines in the USFS regions 4 and 5. In addition, FIRE STOP engines and crews are available nationally through the EATIS system. FIRE STOP is prepared to deploy our resources wherever and whenever we are requested.

The 2008 season is here and the fire activity has already accounted for hundreds in California, Oregon, and other hot spots throughout the United States. Protect your property from an out of control fire disaster which has devastated hundreds of Home Owners and destroyed Government Property.

Season M.A.P begins with successful readiness academy

May 1-3 kicked off our Mandatory Availability Period for all of our suppression personnel. The 3 day academy covered such topics such as gel based structure protection, IA to include radio drills, drafting and water sources, driving safety, mobile and progressive attack simulations and RT-130/shelter deployment drills among others. This academy marks #4 in our series for all employees in anticipation for the 2008 fire season. Fire Stop’s entire fleet is ready to fight fire.

Fire Stop expands its Firefighter Academy Training Program

  • Fire Stop is currently conducting readiness drills with our current fleet. We have just completed several academies. The New Firefighter academy was held March 19th and covered three days of intense training. Not only did our personnel train with our fleet of engines, they were schooled in line prep and an assortment of I.A tactics.

  • Fire Stop held it's Driver Operator academy recently. The Driver Operators were involved in Engine maintenance, pump operation, inventory readiness, GPS maps, radios and tactics among many others. Our ENGB academy will be held April 25th in anticipation of Fire Stop's Mandatory Availability Period and the upcoming Wildfire season.

Fire Stop offers Home Owners Protection to Government Defensible Space Clearing Law (PRC) 4291

California State Government states “In January 2005 a new state law became effective that extended the defensible space clearance around homes and structures from 30 feet to 100 feet. Proper clearance to 100 feet dramatically increases the chance of your house surviving a wildfire. This defensible space also provides for firefighter safety when protecting homes during a wildland fire.”

This law went into effect for in 2005. This public resource code outlines recommendations for a 100ft defensible space zone free of hazardous vegetation around your home. Fire Stop provides a comprehensive plan specific for your property designed by Firefighters. We provide clean, professional clearing services and we leave our customers happy every time!

Fire Stop is staffed by professional Wildland Firefighters, that is what makes us the best suited to help you defend your home and property against Wildfire. Fire Stop provides Defensible Space Clearing, Fuel Breaks, Defensible Fuel Profile Zones, Hazard Fuel Reduction, Chipping and Road Side Clearing.

Since 1991, Fire Stop has supplied equipment and crew to both public and private land owners and managers. A trained team of Firefighters will visit your home or property and provide a FREE Hazard Analysis. This is an essential step in anticipating fire behavior and to tailor a specific plan to optimize your property’s chances of surviving a fire threat. By supplying a fully equipped team of 2 to 20 Fire Stop will successfully, safely and efficiently complete projects of varying size and complexity for you or your organization.
